Anti retirement support

Kind of…most of the fractional jobs are contract work where a company will hire you for 10 hours this week and maybe 6 hours next week. You might have a week or two break, and then come back and work for 15 hours. You are paid hourly, typically no benefits, and no bonus or stock grants.

Now that I have made the required switch to reimbursed Medicare at work all the functional pieces are in place to retire.

Now to sort out the social bit and I may be gone sometime this year. :+1:t2:

Some friends and I are planning on pooling our resources to become, essentially, room mates in a home that is designed for aging in place from the start. We’re hoping that allows us support and interactions at a price we can afford.

My current job is my means of obtaining a paycheck. I’m not in love with it. But I don’t want to retire to sit on my butt all day, either. So I have plans for what I want to do with my time when I am able to retire, including the option for part time work. I won’t be rich, but what I do with my time will be much more under my control.

That is a great idea and I wish you success.

Not an option for me at this point. Wish it was.

I’m newly retired and am as busy as ever. Today is probably paperwork. Oh and I need to try to fix the refrigerator. It’s just the icemaker, so I can put that off.

We had company over the weekend. And then more yesterday.

4 games of chess last night and two of darts.

I need a freaking day off.
