Not sure I understand the pitting. Are you against the idea of building the ark in general? Or do you live next to the thing, which will turn your nice little corner of the earth into a major tourist attraction for a while? I never heard of this one, so part of me is wondering if i’ve been “whooshed” here, or this is some “Onion” article. But if it is legit, I think it could be around for a long time. There are a LOT of people who believe… And just think. If you DO live close by, when the next global flood hits, you won’t have far to go to hop aboard! ---

Principle of the thing; must assume that to the OP, the head of Answers in Genesis and the Creationism museum building a Noah’s Ark theme park is by definition yet a third despicable scam to suck cash out of the uninformed through the deliberate spread of ignorance. The ark park by itself is just ridiculously estoopid. ---

So wait, is this kind of like an amusement park or something? I’ve been on the Noah’s Ark ride at Kennywood, but I imagine this is much different. According to the Bible, Noah and his family built the arc by themselves without modern construction equipment. I’d like to see how long it would take eight people, using non-powered tools, to build a 500 foot long boat. But I don’t necessarily see this as a government boondoggle. Ignore the religious background if you want - from a purely secular viewpoint, this will probably be a popular tourist destination that will bring a lot of money into the local economy. ---
