My non-professional opinion is that she’s as nutty as a fruitcake and needs intensive therapy. For some reason she hates her parents and is striving to become black in order to disprove any possible connection to them. If she could resolve the hate she has for her parents, she might not feel this obsession to be something she clearly is not. If it wasn’t for the hair and bronzer, she would look no more black than Conan O’Brien. So she lied about her race. BFD. No law against it. She acted unprofessionally to a Hispanic student. Much bigger deal and she should have been disciplined if not fired. Lied about being abused because of race. Short of filing false police reports, not a crime. So she’s a compulsive liar and an attention whore. We can’t make her stop lying, but we can stop paying attention. ---

Oh, wow. New twist to the story [Claims that Rachel’s parents were, in fact, abusive](https://homeschoolersanonymous.wordpress.com/2015/06/16/the-media-is-doing-exactly-what-rachel-dolezals-abusive-homeschooling-parents-want/) Coming from Rachel’s older brother (the one who’s himself facing child abuse charges so … who knows) and the younger brother who she later adopted (which family situation is … odd, to say the least) Doesn’t make inventing racial harrassment incidents right, of course. Does, if true, help to explain some of her dysfunction. ETA: I see I’m wrong about the adoption…she’s just her little brother’s guardian. ---

She resembles biracial kids I’ve known who looked basically white. Something about the freckling and face shape. It’s, I’m afraid to say, a “know it when you see it” thing for me. (Except not ‘know’ but ‘estimate a sixty percent chance’ :D). ---

You were exposed to biracial kids in your younger days that are a unique population and don’t resemble biracial kids anywhere else in the country 2. Your memory or information is faulty. I knew some biracial kids (and know two biracial adults right now, sisters who are former students of mine) who have a certain look I got a false impression is in some way weakly indicative of biraciality. It’s not that the people I’m talking about “don’t resemble biracial kids anywhere else”–that’s manifestly false–rather, it’s that they’re not as representative as I thought. ---

The problem you face here is that the parents would have to be lying when a simple DNA test would prove it. Then they would be crazier than she. Someone follow her around and get a DNA sample.
