I still think that the situation at Howard had a lot to do with things. It seems like her feeling discriminated against on the basis of color was the catalyst in her deciding she wanted to present herself as black. ---

I think she’s clearly mentally ill and deserves some sympathy and allowances for that, but I no longer look at her in the same way I did and I likely won’t be defending her any more. ---

I’m not following the story too closely, but I did read Willam Saletan’s story in Slate, which showed overwhelming evidence that she’s reported fake hate crimes countless times. I _might_ be willing to consider the possibility that her parents are not really her parents, but she looks just like both of them in that wedding picture.
