But the question in both cases, why would someone whose native language is not English leave a message in that language on an answering machine that had the greeting in English? Even if they were trying to reach an English-speaking person, you’d think they’d know what the name would sound like, and hang up if they didn’t hear that name. **tamster** is right, **capacitor** (ooh, you both have all-lower-case names!). Report that at once, if you haven’t already. Are you in NYC? Remember that Tim McVeigh was busted by a trooper who thought it was odd that he was wearing a heavy jacket for a supposedly long journey. ---

About 230p on 9-11, I was sitting in the waiting office of a doctor’s office, the TV set blaring the horrific news and I looked at the magazine I had absent mindedly picked up. It was an older issue of Outside Magazine and one of the Tag Lines ( for lack of a better word) on the cover was \* “How to survive jumping off the world’s tallest building.” \* That creeped me out. ---

On Tuesday morning on the way to school I saw two airplanes flying right next to each other. They were small private airplanes, but it was still creepy. ---

My friend Nate and I were talking about Bush’s unilateralism and how much of the world perceives him to be an ass and how the Americans are despised in many countries. I said “they” would be back to finish the Trade Center. It was inevitable. He grimaced and didn’t want to believe it. Chastised me for being such a pessimist, a conspiracy freak. He called me the next morning and told me what happened. You didn’t have to be a Kreskin to see it coming. (And they still refuse to have an armed guard on every flight. What the hell is wrong with them?) My heart goes out to all. Especially the firemen. I don’t know why, especially them, but when I think of them risking their lives to save others and being crushed for it, I am filled alternately with bitterness, despair and vengeful hatred. It’s a vicious loop. ---

_MAD Magazine_’s October issue, fresh from the printers as of Wednesday {9/12/01} contains a picture of Bin Ladin in a satire, and a series Alfred E. Neuman Look-Alike contest photos. The contest was held in the WTC in June. Probably gonna get jerked from the stands. Odd place for a pseudo-prophecy. **peewee\_RotA** =Alfred E. ? Nah. Alfred E. is a _genial_ idiot. But, even he is worried, right now. ---
