Oh, my bad. I thought it had a free trial for some reason. It’s basically Skyblivion with slightly improved combat, linear gameplay, and 10,000 Dovahkiins/Neravarines/Mua’Dibs all saving the same world from some ancient evil. The lore, like the dungeons, are instanced and self-contained, and the other players both exist and don’t – an uncomfortable situation. I’d wait for it to go free/cheap. It’s not a bad game, it’s just rather soulless.
DAoC also had less schizophrenic ambiance as well. Unfortunately, when I was playing it, it didn’t really have enough content to keep things interesting, and I ended up just camping places for XP, and I found myself thinking “I could just go back to EQ and do this with people I know.” so I did.
