Any good news re: COVID-19?

That’s really great news! Can you give the source for those numbers? I’d like to see how my state (Illinois) is faring on that metric.

HERE it is for my area of Johnson county Kansas. They break the stats down to Hospital beds, ICU Beds, and “Surge beds”. Looks like the hospitals are very busy but their is room in the ICU’s.

Its also interesting HEREthey break down the cases so of 367 positive cases 206 are treated as outpatients (I’m guessing just told to go home and quarantine), 118 as inpatient and of those 48 requiring ICU.

They are also pushing more random testing and looking for people possibly exposed like grocery store workers and just did a random of of about 200 of those and are waiting on results. The last time they did a large random test they got around 10% positives.

You can see the static (current) state-by-state numbers here, under “hospitalized–currently”. Getting the historical numbers is a bit more of a project; you have to go to “our data”, download it “as a spreadsheet” into Excel, and then sort it by state and date. Illinois is showing slight declines–not as much as some other states, but then Illinois was hit a little later and not quite as bad.

Thanks for that cite!

Facebook will start telling users “that thing you liked is a hoax”, if they haven’t already.

As I was riding back from dropping the MGB off for a battery conversion, it occurred to me that I can drive it more often since I’m not going to Seattle and I don’t have to do the Car Car Shuffle. I can just park it in the Prius’s spot in the driveway.

Just paid .99 a gallon for gas and it’s suppose to drop further.

911 calls for fire dispatch are down.

I’m practicing sexual distancing. You’re welcome.

I’m wondering if Google is taking advantage of the situation to get relatively unobstructed Street Views.

Great point!

I’ve viewed lots and lots of Streetview images in the last couple years and obstruction of the views is just not a problem. But if the cars are out, I’m sure they are getting more miles/day, since there’s lots less traffic.

The coffee I make at home is waaay better than the one at the office !

The annual elementary school dinner for sixth grade students and their parents has been canceled! This is my first year of teaching at the school, but I have absolutely no interest in getting roped into this sort of dinner.

You sure got out of it the hard way. :dubious:

Are you being sarcastic with anyone else in the thread?
