Wow, this is crazy. Back when I actually wore briefs I _always_ used the fly unless I was wearing sweatpants or something else that didn’t have an exterior fly. Then again, I haven’t worn briefs since I was 13 or 14 _shrug_ I’m more amazed that so many of you unbutton your pants to piss. I don’t exactly pay attention to other guy’s methodologies, but I’ve never noticed anyone fumbling with the jeans button. I kind see how you’d go over the briefs, through the pants, but undoing the whole thing seems like more trouble than it would be to just use the fly. I wear boxers exclusively now, and I never saw that much difference between using the fly on those vs. on briefs. There’s more overlap on briefs, but I never found it that difficult to navigate. 😕 ---

Sounds like some guy’s tighty whities are a bit too tight. Boxers are far more comfortable and practical in many ways, as this thread has shown I think it has to do with being in public, or in private. No guy in his right mind, at home, would go through the trouble of yanking it out through that little cloth trap. They will drop drawer, and maybe even let the jewells hang out for a breather. Granted, at a uni-trough where they can be observed, this might not be a good idea. Personally, I usually just whip mine out, thow it over my shoulder and turn around and pee from behind…but then again…that’s just me. ---

I rarely use the fly, I usually just shift things so my ---- comes out the leg. My wife however when she plays with my ---- , especially when I am sleeping (well more accuratly, when I start off asleap 😉 ) will thread my ---- out the fly. ---

I’ve always used the fly on briefs. Until reading this thread, I’ve been wondering what the heck these other guys were doing with their pants open (I’ve only really been using public urinals frequently for the past year and a half, since I’ve started working). Now it all makes sense. Too much sense. ---

I tried using the Y-font once but it was too involved. I’m an “over and out” guy. After I switched to boxers the only time I used the fly was when someone was giving me oral sex! ---

I use it when I’m in a public restroom. At home I don’t always but at a movie I do. Talking about the fly, has anybody else ever used a “kangaroo pouch” fly? It’s one horizontal opening as opposed to the double overlapping “Y.” I tried it once and it seemed like a good idea at first, but after washing the shorts I realized the weakness in the design. The edged had a tendency to curl and they didn’t continue to overlap completely. As a result I’d get unusual sensations as my tip would suddenly be in contact with my pants. Not comfortable, and I’ll never wear those again. ---

I use the fly pretty much all of the time while wearing either boxers or breifs, unless of course I’m wearing pants that don’t have a fly. I don’t unbutton the pants to open the fly either. The problem with the pulldown method is that that the elastic grabs the guy at his base and restricts flow so I either have to hook a thumb down there to keep loose or I have to pull out the boys too and that’s just weird, especially in public. It’s far, far easier to just reach in, grab, pull out, pee, tuck back in. Plus it leaves me with a free arm to guard the buffer urinal next to me _snicker_ On a related note I’m a lefty and I use my left hand to hold it. I’ve tried holding it with my right hand but that feels really awkward for some reason. ---
