Any hot tub owners?

Damn, Qad. I was going to say you missed your calling as a hot tub salesman. Then I remembered, oh… he’s a doctor… :smack:

I have a six person tub from Sundance. This onehttp://www.sundancespas.com/880series/cameo/
One of the things that sold me on this unit is it has a cool down seat where you can sit with just your legs in the water. (Also excellent for some oral activities nudge, nudge, wink, wink)
I got an ozoneator which cuts down on chemical usage.
I use bromine instead of chlorine as the smell is much less.
My electrical upgrade was about $1500 to bring it to a 200A service.
I had to replace the cover last winter other than that the unit has been trouble free.
I built a set of stairs to make entry and exit easier.

Yes I can.

I forgot one thing. I got a lifter for the cover. Makes getting it on an off lots easier.

FYI - One thing I learned in my hot tub research..and if I ever finish my remodel, I’m putting in a hot tub to celebrate..is that you don’t have to heat the water. I’m in FL, and I fully intend to use it as a soaking pool in the summer, and a hot tub in the winter.

Joke from a friend in Phoenix. “Want to know how I get my spa to 104 degrees? I put ice in it.”

I’ve had that done in a hot tub. I was at a Florida Marlins baseball game a few years ago, in the hot tub section. In July. And the tub was actually being heated. We had the staff turn off the heating and start dumping ice in the tub.

We’ve had three in the past 23 years. We bought a new one each time we moved. We sold the first one after 10 years for about 300 bucks, the second one we left included with the house sale after 12 years, the third we just got this Feb.

We love, love, love them. Never had a problem with the tub going south, except when I had tub parties with my girl friends and we ate and drank all day in the tub. Mrsin called it witches brew when he had to refill the tub the next day.

We use our tub in the summer and the winter, heh some times in the winter we had mixed drinks that froze. In the summer like others we make it a cool tub. Sometimes when it’s really hot we bring the hose in and just set it up to spray up over us, adult sprinkler.

Our first tub was a Jacuzzi, second and third Hot Springs. The only things we ever needed to replace were a heater coil on the first Hot Springs and a recirculation pump that Mrsin replaced because he thought it got too loud.

Electric bill was maybe 10-15 bucks extra a month. Well worth it.
