Here is what I put in my journal about it: \*As we were walking we heard breaking glass. At first we figured someone was breaking bottles in the parking lot or something (we couldn’t see because there was a big hedge or something), but then we heard “back up! back up!” from across the street. We looked and several bouncers from the strip club had their cell phones out and were waving to us to not continue down the sidewalk. My instinct was to stop, figuring that something bad was going down, but the others in the group wanted to keep going, and I felt even more unsafe standing there alone, so we walked. Beyond the hedge was a house for sale. The front windows were smashed. Ok, someone is breaking into the house… let’s get past this FAST since clearly whoever it is is still in the house, right? So we keep walking, but then two of the group stop to take pictures. Now me, I’m thinking that is a good way to get shot. I keep going, along with one of the other girls. We see another window broken on the side of the house, this one with a towel laid across the bottom. We’re quite nervous and hoping the others will hurry up. Eventually they stopped their flash photography of the crime scene and caught up to us, and no one got shot. We joked around about being able to identify the guy’s towel.\* ---

I had a great time too. I’m glad everyone made it home safe. Except for one unfortunate armadillo, my drive home was uneventful. And I made great time. I was through the front door by 1:03am. I was much more curious than concerned. I wanted to wait and watch the cops deliver a beat down!! I dont know why the people across the street were freaking out so bad. “Back up! Oh my God get back! Get away!” …Buncha pussies. I’ll wait to share the whole story until we get the pics posted. On preview I see that **OpalCat** ’s already told the story. That all pretty much sums it up. I apologize for making anyone feel unsafe or nervous. Like I said, the only thing I was at the time was curious. And had some lunatic jumped out of the window waiving any sort of weapon near one of you, I would have put a dozen of [these](http://www.ammoman.com/images/357S-125FMJ-2.jpg) into him before the people across the street could say “Holy Crap!” But still, I’m sorry if anyone felt uneasy or frightened. ---

Those that break into houses (this one empty and up for sale) are looking to steal what they can get their hands on and are cowards. We were a safe distance away, I felt, and thought the picture-taking would embarass them if they even noticed it. Still, I have been truthfully called ‘foolhardy’ on several occasions. I’ve been chased through the desert by a drunken old guy, shortly after having a used condom offered to me by said guy… come home to someone waving a gun around in my driveway… I’ve just seen enough dangerous weirdos to not like sticking around when crimes are going down :X I didn’t think it was likely that anything would happen, I just don’t trust people enough to feel confident that something wouldn’t happen. ---
