# Any jokes in The Bible?

Years ago I toyed with the idea of making a set of Bible cards with some of the twistier bits of Good Book featured. They would include the she-bears tearing to bits the kids who mocked Elisha for his baldness, Lot offering the mob his two virgin daughters if they’ll stop banging on the door and give him some peace. and this one, from Exodus:
21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: 23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

I remember that! That was in Ring of Endless Light! I loved that book when I was 11.

They’d have had to be _really_ idiotic for that; and you’d think Judea would have been arse-deep in confused magi year in, year out. An amusing mental picture maybe, but something less than plausible.
