Want a fun drinking game? Every time the camera angle changes during the infomercial ya have to take a sip.
We’re on our second. It’s great for small blending jobs - smoothies, small amounts of salsa or pesto, milkshakes. It does a better job of making slush or frozen cocktails than a traditional blender - at least the cheapo blenders I’ve had that tend to just swish the ice around.
Incidentally, the recipe book it comes with (at least, the first one we got) has a pesto recipe that calls for microwaving the pesto for like 2:30. Don’t do that- it burned the pesto and destroyed one of our cups.
Yeah, I think that’s the “other” magic bullet. ![]()
Right. My wife uses one daily for a fruity diet smoothie, and it’s great for that because it’s a lot less to clean. Since I do the dishes, I speak as an authority on that.
She also uses it to chop nuts for a quick salad, and just recently to make pesto (despite what someone said above about not being good for sticky stuff). Maybe it was a failed experiment, but the result seemed fine to me.
In summary, it’s not as good as a food processor or full blender, but it’s smaller and less to clean up, so great for single servings & quick jobs. We drink our smoothies right from the blender cups. I put cream &/or ice cream in mine, so not quite a diet drink in my case.
I moved this thread from IMHO to Cafe Society early this morning; my apologies for neglecting to note it until now.
I literally use mine daily.
Don’t treat it like a heavy duty food processor and it works great.
I would skip the “Party Bullet” version since it is an incredibly flawed design (the lid only locks in the “pour” position so you have to hold the lid down the entire time)
This thread is a great disappointment to those of us who hadn’t previously heard the term associated with a small food processor and assumed the thread was about hand-me-down “adult entertainment devices”.
I demand that boozilu immediately go out and buy one of the other type and give it to her mother in order to give back to boozilu to try.
