# Any Members Pictures and other neat things about SDMB going on?

From time to time various people have taken on the task of collecting pictures of the members for posting on the web, and other exciting tasks.

I thought I remembered something about a world map and dots to indicate members houses or something, but it may have been another board.

Is there anything in the works of this nature or have all attempts gone for naught. Just curious, I guess. FTR I did a search for members and pictures for 3 months back in this board (where I would assume it would be talked about) and found nothing. So it’s not like I didn’t try.

The maps of doper locations (One for the [US](http://www.lava.net/~alexman/map/mapusa.html) and one for the [rest](http://www.lava.net/~alexman/map/map.html) of us) are discussed in [this](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63615&highlight=world+doper+locations) thread.

Posters who wanted to sign up for the map were asked to submit their names in [this](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63084&perpage=50&pagenumber=1) MPSIMS thread.

There have been several attempts to compile photographs. (A selection of them were found on a search.)

Highlights:  
**Max Carnage** started [one](http://hometown.aol.com/jonahjamsn/sdmbpix.html). (Listed [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=121756&highlight=straight+dope+people+pages).)

One of the most [famous](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=93217&highlight=straight+dope+people+pages) is the [Straight Dope People Pages](http://www.geocities.com/sdpeoplepages/) organised by **Shayna**. The host website of this one had some trouble, so a lot of the pictures are no longer available.

[Apparently](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=148501&highlight=pictures), **OpalCat** is responsible for the [Teeming Millions](http://fathom.org/teemingmillions/people/) homepage. The Photo-Rama is also mentioned.  
It sould be noted that none of these are in any way affliated with The Straight Dope, the Chicago Reader, etc.

It sould be noted, more importantly, that none of these pages have a pic of my own adorable baby-face. 😉

PhiloVance, sometimes ppl have their picture URL listed in the profile & you just click on profile to see if it’s there. I see you left most of your profile blank.
