If there are any Infopath experts reading, I’d love to know if there’s any possible way to eliminate the little red asterisk that shows up in data validation fields on forms. I understand from reading many other sources that this is part of a standard in either XML, SQL, or .NET development. I’m by no means a developer or programmer, but why does this have to be on there? Just to tell the user that the data needs to be verified? It’s a bit distracting considering there’s already an inline error message or window that can pop up to tell them this if they don’t enter a piece of data correctly … so what the hell do we need the asterisk for?

It’s just really irritating me … isn’t there any way to get rid of it?
