# Any new-join OPs start off with an intensely personal OP, then acheive lasting status?

l am referring to the poster who joins for the sole purpose of posting a (usually long and rambling) post about their love life or lack thereof, their horrible or hateful family, or some other very personal situation.

As far as l can tell, not a single one of these recreational posters have ever had any staying power…posting to other threads or contributing in any way beyond their own self-absorbed, narcissistic, narrow world view about their own lives. In fact most don’t even bother acknowledging answers. Or they quit when the answers are not to their liking.

Am l wrong? Has any poster in the history of SDMB started out with such a thread, then stuck around for the long haul?

Maybe **umkay** \*\*\*\* would have stayed if “she” hadn’t been busted? She did respond to her own thread at least. I don’t recall any contributions to other threads though.

ETA: What about **diamonds02** \*\*\*\*? Did I get her name right?
