I would guess there are quite a few. This show is being re-ran here. I love it. It’s so clever and funny. Where else could you have a show where a main character (Ed Chigliak) dreams in the style of _Felini_. Whats not to like. Fleishman : The neurotic doc. who doesn’t want to be in Alaska but is forced into in due to his college debts. O’Connell : The beautiful mayor/pilot who believed anybody who slept with her would die(6 people IIRC), this didn’t stop the doc. however. Ed : The movie geek/innocent who was a shaman in training. Maurice : The millionare astronaut who was always up to something. Chris : The smart wise cracking DJ who always had some intellectual coversation on the go. and on and on… So anybody else love this show and want to talk about it for a while 🙂 ---

I love that show! But,sadly, I don’t get to watch it that often. Fleishman was always my favorite. I suppose I’ve just always had a special place in my heart for neurotic folks. 🙂 ---

A fine, fine show that deserves a long life after death in reruns. I wonder if there’s anyone who actually liked Paul Provenza as Dr. Capra. In the history of television, I would rank this as one of the least successful replacements. ---

I loved the first couple of seasons, but once Maggie and Joel got together I lost interest. I don’t think it was that specifically, but it was just getting a little too precious at that point. ---

**Snooooopy** I agree. The show just went down hill after Rob Morrow left it. Although it had a lot of very interesting characters and story lines it just seemed to go off the boil when Fleishman eventually left. Another character I like was the Anthony Edwards one (can’t remember) his name. The guy in the dome who was alergic to everything. 🙂 ---

A great show, but I think it kinda ran its course. I used to work in Redmond, WA, maybe a hundred yards or so from where they filmed it. I never saw anybody from the show, but there was a little fenced area where they kept Chris’s trailer and some of the other large props and vehicles. ---

IMHO, the problem with the replacement doc was that he was too much like Joel. I think if they had cast someone completely different (a woman, perhaps, or what about a East Indian with some interesting quirk), the replacement might have worked. I loved Chris and the story line about his brother, Bernard. Only on Northern Exposure… ---

I LOVED that show. First show I ever made sure I never missed. The replacement Doc sure did suck. Though Rob Morrow supposedly sabotaged most of his later performances because he wanted off the show so bad. Glad to see that his film career took off like it did :rolleyes: ---

**Northern Exposure** was King. Adam and Eve were great, great characters. I just saw it the other day for the first time in years. I also enjoyed the Chris character and was dismayed to see him doing commercials for Ford, of all things. Oh, well. The times they are a changin’, I reckon. **Picket Fences** was another show I loved that was in a similiar vein. Tom Skeritt (sp?)was so good on that show. Now we have Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Oi Vey! ---

I loved that show. Not only that, but I have most episodes on tape. 🙂 Adam and Eve were great fun as well as Elaine, the Doc’s fairly silent receptionist. ---

I didn’t like it after Rob Morrow left the show, either, but it was a favorite of mine until then. I find very few network shows worth watching, but Northern Exposure was a gem. Barry Corbin (Maurice) was particularly good, and particularly active in trying to keep the show going - of course, if you look at his background you discover that the man was king of the made-for-tv schlock movies and probably really appreciated having a regular gig with an interesting role.
