You know, a movie star, politician, athelete, whatever. Someone who would be recognizable if you gave your real name. If you qualify as a celebrity, and don’t want to reveal your real identity, at least give a hint as to who you are. It’ll be everyone else’s job to sift out the BS. 😃 ---

Author Cal Meachum goes by the sneaky Doper name of **Cal Meachum** Ditto For **Bad Astronomer** I think he had a TV show (or is it just a wonderful website) I dated the roommate of the niece of Lindsey Buckingham (from Fleetwood Mac). Does that count I also made dinner countless times for Trent Dilfer and his wife Cassandra when he was at CSU Fresno. OK so I worked at the pizza place next to their apartment, There are a few celebs and known personalities floating around the board, most prefer not to advertise themselves. I hear there are a few old rock stars about but I do not know who they are. ---

This query comes up fairly often, and the answers tend to be the same – lots of published authors, lots of \*Jeopardy \* winners, but no one who says “I’m a rock and roll singer who generally doesn’t play an instrument and is known for the way I like to eat my MARS bars”, if you mean that kind of celebrity. ---

Judging from the e-mails I got after defending file-sharing here, we’ve got a couple of two-bit songwriters who think they’re hot shit because they wrote a B-side fifteen years ago even though the public wouldn’t recognise them at all. My dad is moderately famous, but nothing spectacular. Nor is he likely to be recognized on the street. But, he does run one of the world’s premier fine arts organizations. ---

I have a feeling we’d be able to compile one hell of a “six degrees” type list of people we were able to get in touch with. Real celebs, however, are mostly out making the news, not trying to make sure it’s internally consistent and well-cited. ---
