They do however show them when **the characters** have to count… …ah damn it! ---

Yes, and the rhythm and the fingering of the piano part wouldn’t have worked with four fingers. At least I believe I’ve seen a hand with five fingers. I noticed it because I thought it was funn that animation so crude would actually bother to have all five. I could be wrong though. ---

I don’t know why they don’t rerun it—the local Fox affiliate just brought back _The Smurfs_ to plug holes in it’s Saturday morning lineup, for pete’s sake. \*(Though I’d guess that they changed to four when they turned it into “Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters”) ---

They all had 5 fingers in God, The Devil, and Bob - if anyone remembes that. It just came out on DVD… ---

I don’t get it, apart from the Simpsons which has 4, isn’t the de-facto standard to have 5? 😕 ---

No. Unless the characters are drawn realistically overall, four fingers are the standard in cartooning. (_South Park_ is an exception.) ---

Got one. Anyone remember the Disney cartoon _Bonkers_? It was set up with a “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” premise of “Toons” coinhabiting the “real” world with humans. Well, on the show, all the “real” humans had five fingers, while all “Toons” had four. In the pilot, that’s how they were able to tell one villain was a human pretending to be a toon. Of course, since the “real” characters had almost the exact same animation style as the toons, this was about the _only_ way the viewers could tell them apart.
