You know, there seem to be “jokes” that comedians do that are somewhat traditional in nature, but not as explicitly traditional as, say, “The Aristocrats”.
For instance, Ellen Degeneres on HBO, started doing a bit about tripping on a crack in a sidewalk. . .how people start running, and look goofy, and look back at it. . .whatever.
I didn’t feel like it was her ripping someone off (like say if she started doing a routine on “the seven words you can’t say on television”) but it was more like her soloing on an old standard, to borrow an analogy from The Aristocrats movie.
Another example is really just, “women do this. Men do that” or “blacks do this, whites do that” might fit into that. That shit can still be funny if the comedian has their own spin on it. But, if that’s all you got, you’ll never be great. You need to do your own bits, too.
I know that’s all a little different than the Aristocrats, but its somewhere along the continuum.
