According to a former WWE writer, WWE almost launched a revival of the nWo during the Thunderdome era, and it was aborted because the original nWo member (probably Kevin Nash) who was going to manage them caught covid before the taping. I can almost guarantee TKO tried to get him to agree to an insultingly large pay cut as part of their ongoing endeavor to drain every last cent out of the company before selling off its withered husk to further enrich themselves, and he said “I’ll take my chances in AEW, fella.” It’s a shameful thing they’ve lost their head. 🙂 He owns the ring name “Sheamus O’Shaunessy” just like Christian owns “Christian Cage”, so he’d even be able to keep using it. ---

Apparently Sheamus is dealing with spinal stenosis. At 48 years old, he just might be calling it a career, especially if he handled his money decently. But yeah, he was probably low-balled and might have just said no, though I would think TKO might have simply booted him in that situation. ---

I mean, if he wants One Last Run, he could surely do just as well in AEW as Edge and Christian and Jericho and Jeff Jarrett and Sting and Daniel Bryan have done. Tony Khan clearly respects the veterans he brings in and knows how to book them as formidable competitors without making the entire show revolve around them at the expense of the younger generation like Vince often did, and he doesn’t bring people in just to bury them like Vince did either. ---
