Grayson Waller can’t catch a break. It seemed like his return to NXT and C. M. Punkesque Pipe Bomb promo was going to elevate him to main event status, but then he gets paired with Santana/Montana, where he was pretty much guaranteed not to win, against WWE’s latest hot catch. It was a brilliant match, which I thought was going to end with D’Angelo interfering, setting up a three-way down the road. D’ by the way, sounded totally lackadaisical on commentary. Now Waller gets insta-buried with Godzilla Fatu’s debut, and I can see why D’ was so blasé on the mic. He knew his spotlight was about to be stolen. ---

At Saturday Sunday Night’s Main Event, Baron Corbin hit the End of Days twice on Lil’ Yachty and had him dead to rights, but his hubris in wanting to put him through a table led to him being crotched on the top rope and running out of time. Trick Williams then won the US Title back from him. We saw the return of Bronson Reed, who hit four Tsunamis on Oba Femi. Randy Orton beat Cody in the main event.
