Should be a fairly straightforward question.

I’ve been working in my present job for a bit more than a year, and there is heavy keyboarding involved. I had a pretty consistent 35wpm rate a year ago, and now I’m feeling like I’m a great deal faster.

I’d just like to test that hypothesis. Are there any websites that feature a real-time typing test?

You can try a game called “Typer Shark” at [Yahoo](http://games.yahoo.com/). Look under “Arcade and Other Games”. It’s a game, but I think it gives you your WPM also.

If you google “typing speed” the first result is a simple online test.

Typer Shark is fun, though. You might get addicted.

Many thanks to both of you. I shall try the Google link first, as I already spend a lot of time on Text Twist (my best score for a day is in excess of 150,000).

I had just been wondering this myself. I went to the Google-linked one and my first attempt times me at 93 wpm net.
