# Any sites with High resolution monitors that won't break the bank.

It seems like all the monitors I look at on the internet are the same Max resolution 1680x1050.

That’s a ‘good’ resolution, but I had an aprox 1700x1200 monitor YEARS ago, and a 1920x1280 monitor a few less years ago than that. They were attached to my alienware laptops.

If Alienware has been selling computers with high-res screens for so long, why is it so hard to buy a desktop monitor that’s higher than 1680x1050?

**Edit:** It seems, if I want to get a bit higher than that res, I have to go 24" and beyond!

(my aleinware screens were 17 inch and 19 inch respectively, so it’s not as if they can’t fit the pixels in the smaller space!)
