# Any skin suggestions ?

I’ve gotten into the whole anything-but-a-Bill-Gates interface thing of late and wondering what you other crazy, alternative folks are on.

As it’s completely idiot proof with over 1,000 choices, I’ve settled on [WindowBlinds](http://www.windowblinds.net/) as my skin source of choice (in theory, you need to purchase it. Other skin source options are free).

I’m currently looking at you via the MAXWB interface – nice buttons and colour with a pleasant (sort of) Merc / BMW lines and curves thing happening – any other recommendations for a clean, not busy look ?

Oh. And here I thought you were thinking of becoming a skin head. In which case I certainly hope you were thinking of joining SHARP. Come to think of it, if they had a skin, I’d choose that one.

I used to have WindowBlinds too, but it kept crashing my computer. Well, to be honest, these days ANYTHING will crash my damn 'puter. It needs some more memory, I think. And probably a lot of Non-Gates software… the only problem is all the peripheral devices: they ALL require Windows, so I suppose Linux isn’t an option.

Thinking ! **Thinking** of becoming a skin…you almost made me spill my warm milk. Have to tell you, comrade, I was on the streets back in 77 when ‘Rock Against Racism’ wasn’t some kind of comfortable middle class student cause…now let me tell ya how it was… :o

Coldie – You know, I usually avoid these things for that very reason (crashing). Just got so damn fed up looking at the bloody screen I thought, in desperation, I’d give it a go. No probs so far and fingers crossed.

Yep, I agree a lot of the problems with crashing are probably memory related. That and the ‘Home PC’ Windoze software – not unlike driving a bloody East German Trabby. God help us all !

So, no one into WindowBlinds, then ?
