[/QUOTE] I have the Paul Young version, and it just… works. Damned if I know how. Who else has covered it? Back to the OP, I was flummoxed that music snob friends would laugh at Prince and AC/DC. Sounds like the friends don’t know much about music, and are wannabe music snobs. True music snobs actually like a lot of the stuff we’ve mentioned here - ABBA, The Carpenters, etc. because of their songcraft. It’s actually tres snobby to like that kind of stuff, or even find some redeeming value in the latest Nickelback track. ---

Some of my worst: Smokie -“Who the fuck is Alice?” Barbara Jones- “Just When I Needed You Most” (reggae version of the classic) Climax Blues Band -“I Love You” Enya- Greatest Hits INXS- Switch (The album after their CBS show with the new singer). Matchbox Twenty -All of their albums. Tom Green- “I Like Hooters”. (This song is actually awesome, dammit. “See, the Doc on duty treats me like a criminal. I say ‘I come from the city…I’m kinda liberal’”) ---
