# Any St.Louis based Dopers? I’m going to be spending 3 months in teh St.Louis area very soon… what I’d like to know is… a) if there are any good theatre groups who I can get involved with… or meet b) anyone renting out there house over Christmas c) any group of Dopers that meet regularly or gather locally around there… anything I do will have to be voluntary stuff because I don’t have a work permit - - but as my girlfriend lives over there I’m planning on trying again to get a permit for next year… so this 3 months will hopefully also give me a chance to build up lots of contacts… any info is appreciated… ---

If you had been coming during the summer, you might be able to work at [The Muny](http://www.muny.com/index.html). But that’s a summer theater, being outdoors and all. [Stages St. Louis](http://www.stagesstlouis.com/) is a local company that performs mostly musicals. They use local actors and volunteers so you might find a place there. I’ve only lived here a little over a year, but I haven’t met any other local Dopers. I know there are some, though. Can’t help you with the rental. ---

Headlines on local weather, entertainment and events. Where does your girlfriend live? St. Louis is pretty spread out, so location is an important consideration in your living arrangements. Not sure why St. Louis Dopers haven’t gotten together. I think a few tried to arrange something a while back at the Westport area, but I think it fizzeled out. It would be worth a try in my opinion, as I know there are a few around. If you have any specific questions, I’ll try to answer them. ---

There are a bunch of local theater goups. At the top are the Muny and the Rep, which are both bona fide professional Actors Equity companies. Then there are Stages and several other professional theaters, right down to “hey kids, let’s put on a show” community theaters. ---

Keep it coming guys - - this is great… I’m going to check out those web site more in full when I finish work today… I’d hate to feel like I’m doing nothing for the duration while my girlfriend is at work… I’d have to check the exact area where she is… as I can’t remember!
