The other day, I watched a video on Facebook about Elon Musk’s plan to launch tens of thousands of satellites into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to provide a low-latency satellite internet service to the world. Part of the latency inherent in current satellite-based internet is that the satellites must be in geosynchronous orbit, which is about 26,000 miles above the Earth.
