But they do have the murders. “Gun deaths” is a bad term. Are we comparing murder rates or deaths by guns, which include suicides?

If you mention the word suicide in this thread again, you will be warned for it. This is a blatant derailing trick.

No, actually, evidence does not indicate that. What the evidence - mountains of evidence - indicated is that a person, whether crazy or angry or whatever, is much likelier to kill if they have a firearm than if they have almost any other kind of weapon you can possibly name.

I heartily agree with your statement but, what I don’t agree with, is your interpretation of my statement. People were killing one another, sometimes in great numbers, long before the invention of gunpowder. Unless you’re saying all historical records are a fabrication, then my statement IS true. Anything you read into my statement beyond that is a false inference on your part.

I am a strong advocate for gun regulation/control. How people believe that we should regulate and control automobiles but not guns is nothing less than amazing to me.
