any survivalist/preppers here?

I consider myself a light prepper. I’m in no way ready for SHTF, but I will do nicely with my bugout stuff for the time when the Chesapeake Bay gets hit by a Cat 4 hurricane.

I backpack, so there’s enough stuff in the house to last a while.

My thoughts have always been that it can’t hurt to be prepared. Problems to overcome are expense, storage, rotating old stock, and keeping quiet about it.

I lived in the UK during the Cuban Missile crisis.
As I recall, the Government advice was “in case of a nuclear attack on London, keep away from windows and shelter under the dining table.” :smack:
There was no disruption to normal life.

I keep spares of: batteries, toilet paper and soft drinks.
That will cover anything in my lifetime.

2.5 but I’m a Minnesotan. Hurricane risk is 0. Earthquake risk is only slightly higher. And we have the tools to deal with our most common disaster - a huge snowstorm. So I need enough to get us through three days in the snow. There is some additional risk of being without heat for that period of time, but you can live for three days in your bed with a ton of covers on.
