I’m against the war.
That is simply not the truth. Most of the bombings were due to movement of radar equipment on the ground or aircraft simply violating the arbitrary no fly zone. There have also been organized bombing campaigns that were not in singular response to any particular action by Iraq other than “hostile actions”.

I can find literally hundreds of dicuments supporting the angle drilling of Kuwait into Iraq. When I search for Iraq angle drilling into Kuwait, guess what? Nothing. When you look into the companies that developed angle drilling techniques, guess what? They did it in Kuwait. It is also a fact that Kuwait was over producing a staggering amount of oil above its OPEC quota.
I have got to give it to you though, OPEC did not think this was enough to go to war. Kinda reminds me of another situation we’re in right now. Thanks for the new angle. (no pun intended)
I dont think there is a reasonable way to have a relatively culturally safe amount of American terrorist attacks* without one of the three:
– a complete cultural and militatry victory over them.
– not letting anyone into this country.
– a complete surrender (i.e. giving up israel and backing out of the middle east entirely)
in this context, it is irrelevant whether we find or don’t find WMD. IMO, the real issue is that Saddam is sponsoring suicide bombers, although probalby not Al Qaida (although he probably would if he could get away with it.)
At this point, there’s no way out, since Iraq probably has both destroyed a lot of WMD in secret and hidden a lot of it in secret locations. In other words, there’s no way for us to prove WMD, but those are not the real reasons (in short, real reasons: Intifada, revenge for Bush Sr., and Saddam’s defiance of America and his general assholishness.)
Let’s sharpen our knives, folks. This could be long
- meaning, the average amount in the past 30 years, including 9/11. Tragic, but it won’t destroy our lifestyle.
