# Any way to disable Macromedia Flash advertisements?

Blinky, dancing, swirling, swooping Macromedia Flash adverts. Gah! We hates them! We _haaaates_ them! At lest with distracting animated GIF’s the “stop” button kills them.

So, is there any way to stop the madness? I’m resorting to Post-its on those ones you can’t right-click disable or super-zoom into a neutral area.

I blieve flash is an Active X thing so disabling ActiveX should do it

I use [PopUpCop](http://www.popupcop.com/) , you can turn off flash, but if you go to a flash site you want to see you can click on the movie and it will play. It will also stop popups. Or you can [remove flash](http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/remove_player.htm) .
