The best way to have your luggage come out first is to make sure that it’s unattractive and that you don’t need it right away so everybody else waiting for their luggage can count how many times it takes a lap around the carousel.
Seriously, I’ve never figured out how the bags come off. I am a compulsively early person (especially when checking bags) and my bags have come off the carousel in the four sectors of baggage delivery:
- First group
- Second group
- Third group
- Never
