I am under the impression that they needed some real seat-of-the-pants booking after Orton failed a concussion protocol. You would think that Vince would have revealed the truth and taken the opportunity to use it as a message to everybody that WWE is serious about concussion management of its wrestlers, but explaining away his absence from the match with the same old “backstage beatdown” just tells people that wrestling doesn’t cause physical problems. ---

No way. They did enough of the concussion thing with Daniel Bryan. The thing Vince wants to do now is pretend concussions DON’T exist. Plus, I feel that’d be breaking some kind of Kayfabe too ---

They allow Brock Lesnar to beat Orton’s head bloody at SummerSlam, and then he can’t compete at Backlash because of a concussion? Imagine my surprise. Anyway, Kane has no business beating Bray Wyatt. ---

I dunno, it has a strange retro vibe going for it. Slater playing the loud idiot trailer trash and Minimalist Rhino being Best Rhino. But it is definitely a low mid-card thing. I could see, with a lot of work, him winning the IC title or something, but not holding it long. I just don’t see more than that in his future. ---

Hehe… talk about life imitating art… The Shining Stars’ new “Time Share” angle is exactly what a coworker of mine went through, only this happened in Cazumel Mexico. She and her friend had both just gotten divorced, so they decided to go to a resort and party their asses off. After they checked into their hotel and got all dressed up like Kardashian cousins, they hailed a taxi. The driver told them they could go to a free dinner and open bar if they just stayed around for a presentation. Apparently, taxi drivers are contracted by these time share businesses to hook drunken tourists. Holy shit, KO just took Seth to school with his promo. Anyhoo… Coworker and her friend wind up buying what they thought was an $18,000/year lease, but they didn’t notice the hidden fees that inflated the cost to about 7 times that amount. Plus, the time share people had their lease split across multiple parties, making it more difficult for them to get their money back. So yes, the Time Share angle is genuine heel mendacity. ---

It would be a good fit, with Zeb Coulter evicted. A new angle just came to me. Nia Jax becomes a bodyguard for The Miz. She stumbles and falls on top of him just as Marize enters the room. Miz exclaims, “It’s not what it looks like!” Nia looks down at the Miz midsection and arches an eyebrow. ---

That was pretty brutal. I have a hard time believing all those Michinoku Drivers and head/neck heavy impact spots aren’t shortening their careers. Was honestly seriously amazed that no one was injured during this tournament. ---

Was passing right the hell out during the Gran Metalik and ZSJr match (and probably only half of the reason was Jr’s wrestling style…). I knew I wasn’t going to make it til 11 regardless, so I just said “screw it” and went to bed at, like, 9:30. I know who won (very happy with the result), but I’ll have to catch up on the details later. ---
