Seth actually got some face heat last night vs Rusev, and they put on a nice match. I thought HHH would make an appearance to upsell CoC and play on a conflict storyline with Stephanie. Maybe he’ll attempt to interfere with the Seth/KO match and Stephanie, now lawful good, will prevent this. That doesn’t seem to be the direction they’re going, however. They’re kind of uniting the main event heels. Maybe another League of Nations faction is in the works, with Rusev joining KO & Jericho? That angle worked so well before. KO’s deserted Rusev so many times in the past, Rusev would look like a huge patsy, so I can’t see that happening. RR winning the title from Rusev would surprise absolutely no one. No way Rusev would get a clean win. I doubt Lana could do much to stop Reigns, but they do have her movie to promote. Maybe she’ll get a revenge cake to smash in his face. THE CAKE IS A LIE! ---

I’d be pissed if they gave **Kevin Owens** the title just to give it away again so soon. Also, **TJ Perkins** dropping the title already basically buries the Cruiserweight Championship. We had a multiple week long tournament with the “Best Cruiserweights on the planet [ZOMGBBQ!]” to have him drop it in his first title defense? Like…what was the point, then? So I’m calling KO and Perkins retain. Sasha and Reigns take the titles. Flip a coin for New Day/Club. ---

I almost regret that they’re not doing the face/heel dichotomy in the cruiserweights. The Brian Kendrik would make a great heel if he weren’t moping so much about getting his second chance. ---

I’d love to see Reigns lose. I think the man desperately needs to be pushed down the card a little and lose a bit, because the fans are just NOT accepting him being pushed so goddamned hard. Seriously, I’d also like to see the Superman punch NOT be 50% of his offense too. Learn some fucking moves, dude. Best outcome for me would be him getting thoroughly beat down and Rusev stripping that goddamned vest off him before a post-match never-ending Accolade. Hell, beat him down WITH the vest. Perkins had better retain, as above. Unfortunately, as much as I think Zayn needs the win, this involves Jericho and Vince, and Vince has a very bad habit of booking Jericho to win at the wrong times. ☹ Going to go with Charlotte retaining, possibly by Total Clusterfuck Interference Disqualification when Emma comes down, attacks Charlotte and all five women end up fighting in the ring. “Catty women who hate each other” strikes again. :rolleyes: ---

Interesting interview JBL had with Nash & Hall on the network. It’s like hearing veterans telling war stories. I thought they were instrumental in destroying WCW back in the day, but there’s a million things that went on behind the scenes that the public knows about. They’re very savvy about the business, and talked about how much they had to wing it during the NWO angle. There was very little planning for that work. They just lit a fire and fanned the flames. ---

I remember reading how when Nash became a booker for WCW, he would just send the bookings by fax. He wouldn’t even show up to talk to the talent. Another reason to call him “Big Lazy.” After a few weeks of watching TNA, about the only things that interest me are the X division and the Delete vs Decay storyline. (Did Senor Benjamin mind meld with the drone? Will Crazzy Steve and Rosemary make evil clown babies?) The Knockouts division has recycled the old WCW Bischoff era storyline in microcosm, but Allie does contribute some chuckles. Drew Galloway has a cool Scottish accent, but otherwise, everything’s just kind of background noise. Things might pick up when Cody (without the last name) arrives. ---

Watched JBL interview Michael Hayes. It had some funny moments, like when JBL kept bringing up Hayes getting fired by Andre the Giant, shortly after the Freebirds joined WWF. The Freebirds showed up drunk and Hayes barely able to walk for a venue, and Andre was working as a road agent. Turns out it wasn’t actually Andre who fired them. The FBs figured they weren’t welcome anymore to WWF so they went to Japan. Vince did hire Hayes later and converted him to Doc Hendrix, which Hayes wasn’t too wild about. He continues to work with creative though. They talked mainly about the WCCW and GCW years. They mentioned that Vince McMahon had actually tried to form partnerships with some other wrestling feds back in the 80’s, but none of their promoters took his offer. I remember he did strike a deal with Ted Turner and GCW, but it only lasted a few weeks. Vince wasn’t pleased with the complimentary seats he got for Atlanta Braves games or something. Hayes was such an awesome cocky heel. He’d strut to the ring like a rooster, jerk his head around and toss his golden mane in time to the music, and puff out his hairy chest. I especially liked the way he’d react when he was booed. He’d jerk his head from side to side, blond hair flapping over his face, astonished that the audience would actually reject his masculine beauty and remonstrate God’s obvious gift to women. ---

Pretty good PPV so far. The Jericho vs Zayn match had a stupid idiot ending. Zayn couldn’t kick out of the type of hold that’s used to extend the match? Otherwise, the women’s match rocked and Shamus vs Cesaro went better than I thought it would. ---

What’s the point of having a special event (Honestly no one is buying these “pay-per-view” style so I’m quite surprised WWE hasn’t made a special name for these…but I digress…) if nothing happens in them? It’s called Clash of Champions! Every title is defended! …yet only one (the dumbest one that no one gives a shit about) actually changes hands and the rest are defended perfectly fine with little-to-no repercussions about it. I thought that New Day had the tag-team record, now I’m hearing it’s Demolition…what gives? Lastly, how is Cesaro still alive? Holy shitballs that’s why they DON’T DO SPOTS LIKE THAT ANYMORE ---

All in all, I’d say Jericho collected the most heel points. Interesting development in that Seth Rollins is in a position where he has no allies. He’s burned his bridges with the Author-it-eye, Mick Foley, and Roman Reigns. I hope they do an angle where he tries to make amends with all the people he crossed, and obviously lacks sincerity while doing so. Regarding the tag team reigns, there’s a [Wiki page](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWE_Raw_Tag_Team_Championship) for it. See, New Day has the longest reign with what is currently called the “WWE Tag Team Championship.” Before 2010, it was the “World Tag Team Championship.” Plus, WWE was WWF prior to 2002, and Demolition was active from 1987-1991. So technically, Demolition held the “WWF Tag Team Championship” belts. The 2002 brand split complicates matters even more, because the tag champs were exclusive to RAW at first, then SD had their own tag champs, then the two sets of belts became unified in 2009 as the “Unified WWE Tag Team Championship” before being rebranded as the “World Tag Team Championship” in 2010. Clear as mud? ---

The world title lineage was dropped in favor of the other title when the first brand split ended and the two titles were unified. If ND holds the belts for another 78 days, they’ll break Demolition’s record. ---
