Just finished watching the replay, and I gotta say, this was a great show. I was disappointed that Miz retained, but the match itself was amazing, and the promo he did afterwards was one of the best of his career. Bray Wyatt _finally_ has a championship, the women were in top form in both their matches, and though I would’ve preferred a clean victory in the ME, Ellsworth’s surprise heel turn is an interesting twist in the story of everyone’s favorite chinless jabroni. On a scale of “Booty” to “What the Rock is Cooking”, I’d rate it “Too Sweet”. ---

I was more “meh” about this one. Maybe it’s WWE burnout, but it seemed like a lot of time was lost to setting up props. Plus, the opponent had to sell being grievously injured while waiting for the setup to finish. Then, the wrestlers had to alter their momentum to either miss the prop or jump a little bit more to hit it. The action just didn’t have a natural flow to it. One or two gimmick matches per card is OK, but a whole night of them gets old. Plus, I don’t see what good Ellsworth would be as a heel. It’s like being enemies with an anemic walrus. ---

I really really liked seeing Alexa Bliss out of character for the first couple of minutes of Talking Smack. Goddamn, she is a hot little woman. 😃 Then Renee had to ask her about Becky and she had to get back into character. Then completely delusional James Ellsworth. “I believe I have AJ’s number”. 😛 Well it isn’t Gold, it’s Silver (and at least it isn’t one of those Penny Belts), but I’m still happy to see Bray Wyatt finally get a belt. 🆒 ---

Ended up missing the last two matches, but I’ll catch up on them later this afternoon. Dean is slowly turning into the new Bray Wyatt. Insanely over with the crowd, but loses every PPV match he goes into. The matches I saw I really liked, and I know the finishes to the others so I have relatively high hopes. Although this just proves to me that Smackdown has the better stories because I could give a shit about pretty much anything on RAW ---

Looks like Sami Zayn has become the Dolph Ziggler of RAM. Works his ass off and loses, gets curb stomped, hospitalized, etc. He makes such a good victim. He’s the one everybody pops with a wet towel in the locker room. Enzo and Cass are money, but my favorite angle is still them getting Carmella fired from her pet grooming job on NXT. Big Show is down to 395 lbs. He used to top 500 and take sick bumps anyway. How is he still alive? Charlotte and Sasha have been main eventing. They’re the Ric Flair vs Sting/Ricky Steamboat/Randy Savage of this generation. And it’s all due to Stephanie McMahon. \ There’s a funny segment on the Network’s latest Travel Tales/Story Time show. Apparently Shane McMahon is a real scamp. He was driving Bubba Ray & Spike Dudley and Tommy Dreamer, then decided to call Vince on his cell phone at 3 AM. When Vince answered, Shane said “Bubba wants to talk to you” and handed the phone to Bubba. Vince growled “What are you doing corrupting my son?” Bubba replied “Vince, I think you know by now it’s the other way around,” and handed the phone back to Shane. Shane then said “Spike wants to talk to you,” and Spike was totally soused. He thought it was a prank and cursed Vince a blue streak until he realized it was the real Vince. Bubba said he panicked and threw the phone at the wind shield, whereupon it exploded upon contact. Shane then slammed the brakes and Dreamer flopped from the back seat all the way to the front like a walrus surfacing onto dry land. ---

Sami is perfect for that role though. He’s the over scrappy hero who always loses. He’s Zigs and Becky Lynch and probably a million other people. Plus his stupid face is so damn punchable… Caught up on the rest of TLC. The Becky/Bliss match was surprisingly good, except the crowd was shitting on it for whatever stupid reason. I’m fine with the ending too. I also watched Talking Smack for the first time and loved Alexa’s non-kayfabe emotion. The AJ/Ambrose match was, IMO, absolutely match of the year. AJ is just amazing and took some insane bumps and did some insane stunts. Dean did very well as well playing off if it too. The fact that he picked up AJ as if he were powerbombing him, and flipped him onto the chairs? The upper body strength to do that, holy shit! A great match with an ending I didn’t hate. ---

With the way Baron Corbin and Miz have been crowding for attention on Talking Smack, I’m wondering if GM Bryan will kill two birds with one stone and make the two fight each other. It will make up for him being their bitch in past episodes. “Baron, you want better competition? Fine. Miz, you say you’re the top draw? Prove it against Corbin.” That I’d watch. ---

Well, looks like Raw’s coming to Portland in February, which probably means they’ll be doing Smackdown in Seattle the night after. I’m gonna go ahead and plan to make both those shows, and I’ll probably bring my Sheamus mask and Glo-Worm again. ---

It’s just come to my attention that a brand new indy promotion called “DEFY” is starting up in Seattle next month, and they’ve announced the main event of their first show is going to be Cody Rhodes vs. Killshot, with Matanza and Son of Havoc on the undercard. Tickets are going on sale tomorrow and I’m gonna try and snag one. The venue is an old lodge hall (where Hendrix played back in the day!) that looks like it can hold a few hundred people for a wrestling show, so hopefully I’ll be able to get in. ---

So Total Nonstop Deletion is a week from today, they had a brief ad during tonight’s TNA broadcast. Looks like the entrance to the ring is through Matt Hardy’s mouth, the DCC will be there with an army of masked clones, people will be fighting on a small exploding volcano, and Abyss might be hit by a train. ---

I think one of the reasons Cody wanted out of the WWE was because he wanted control over what he would do. This is certainly the case huh? He’s wrestling for every damn promotion under the sun. Surprised he hasn’t taken over Ellsworth’s old promotion at this point… ---
