Really? Admittedly, I haven’t followed the company closely the last few years, but I did catch Wrestlemania last weekend. I noted Shane’s absence (is he still involved?), but Stephanie and Hunter still seem to have an important presence. I figured they’d be taking over eventually. ---

There is a ton of speculation that the company is being primed for sale. Hunter was thought to be the heir-apparent, but his recent health issues may have put the end to that. “Losing” to AEW on Wednesday nights didn’t help. On another note, Cornette did not disappoint. His rant on the Zane/Knoxville match was everything one might expect. Though he thinks that everyone who wants to hear his rant agrees with him. I wanted to simply be entertained by his rant, just like I was oddly entertained by that match. ---

I’m listening to it now and I’m cracking up. He got some schadenfreude on KO and Zayn complaining about his “cheesy” booking, and then went total meltdown on the Zayn/Knoxville match. ---

He related a story about the first time he met Dusty Rhodes. He had just gotten hired by NWA and was taken backstage to talk to Dusty, who was then head booker. Nearby there was an armed man wearing sunglasses. Regal did an impression of Dusty telling him “William Regaaaal, I got a bodyguaaaard, jutht like Whitney Houthton!” ---

**AEW Dark Taz/Excalibur moment of the day** Taz admits his memory’s a little faulty because he got with chairs a lot. He opines that Justin Roberts is going to throw a cactus at him for talking over the announcer, Diamante screams like Ex when he’s doing readings, and the Splash is a 600-year old move. Taz further relates that he has two helicopters, one single-tanked and the other double-tanked, and he’s considering buying an electric version. Today, it was demonstrated you don’t necessarily want Taz to fill in continuity gaps. **The Acclaimed’s Max Caster vs. Mike Reed** Ex: Wow, we got the extended edition of the Max Caster intro rap here. No Anthony Bowens at ringside, so Caster didn’t have to share the mic. Taz: Bowens, I am getting word, he is backstage in the locker room region. He got in a scuffle with someone. That’s why he didn’t come out here. So, he was scheduled, but there was a scuffle. Ex: Did it have anything to do with the tea shortage in catering? Taz: Yes. He was totally pissed off there was no Olde English tea. Not to be confused with the [font.](https://www.fontspace.com/category/old-english)\* Ex: (laughing) or the malt liquor. … _Caster brings in his chain. Reed foils his assault and grabs the chain. The referee takes the chain from Reed. As the referee disposes of it, Caster kicks Reed in the genitals. Caster then wins with the Mic Drop._ Ex: The referee took his eyes off Max Caster for just a moment, and that’s all Caster needed to pick up the win. Taz: That was smart by Caster. Sketchy Jones. He made sure the ref hadda get the chain out of the ring, and Yambag Yahtzee! Next thing you know, he gets the victory. Caster with the victory! \*Taz actually did graphic design work for ECW, so that’s how he knows about fonts. ---

I loved it. Nothing but chops. Just two animals whopping the hell out of each other. No holds, no flips, just sheer naked brutality. The post-match thing completely sucked the life out of the match though. Some lumbering Great Khali knockoff came in and squeezed Joe’s head. ---

Tony Khan’s got another “major announcement” next week - I’m guessing that it’s going to be that ROH’s weekly show is moving to TBS, and we’ll see Joe’s feud with Jay Lethal and his new muscle continue over there. We won’t have to wait that long for more ROH title action, though - this Saturday on Battle of the Belts, Jonathan Gresham is defending the ROH world championship against Dalton Castle, who’ll hopefully be bringing his Boys with him. ---
