I had a couple customers who would not drop a dos era medical billing program even after the company that supported it went out of business causing all manner of support grief. I ended up cloning the drives to VM’s and running them under win10.
Whatever works, but FreeDOS is up-to-date and will run most of that stuff on “bare metal”. Unless it’s a UEFI-only machine.
I do. I got a second-hand desktop from my folks when they upgraded. I use it to run PSPICE and other engineering programs from ‘the day.’ Beats using a slide rule, but there’s no way in hell I’m connecting it to the Internet.
