> If there is anything a novice rider does that bugs the crap out of me it is watching them drag their feet on the blacktop. With a little effort, one soon learns to pick up their foot as they release the clutch. They also learn to put their food down just after the bike comes to a stop. It will not immediately fall over if you have any sense of balance at all. Heck, I often leave my feet on the pegs while I wait out a light. Small shifts in my body weight can keep the bike upright for quite a while.

Unless I was tired. Then I came home into the yard, stopped, and forget to put my feet down…

I assumed that this was going to be a fashion thing.
Odd shoes have always been a thing for hipsters (or whatever previous decades’ hipsters were called) but recently there’s a trend of shoes that off the shelf deliberately don’t match. e.g. [this kind of thing](https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&source=images&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwj9-_v9h6zgAhVFPI8KHeJfBFQQjRx6BAgBEAU&url=%2Furl%3Fsa%3Di%26source%3Dimages%26cd%3D%26ved%3D%26url%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.youtube.com%252Fwatch%253Fv%253DzLOlBjhuk2E%26psig%3DAOvVaw2oFGEZjHmmJjyezX24g7nN%26ust%3D1549712612531773&psig=AOvVaw2oFGEZjHmmJjyezX24g7nN&ust=1549712612531773). I will admit to wearing mismatched socks. But only my heavy wool or polar fleece socks that I wear with boots when I walk the dogs. I wear the heels out of my socks for some reason so if I wear one of them out, I’ll save it and wear it with the next pair that one sock gets worn out. But they have to be the same kind of sock - the only difference would be color.

Like Steven Wright says, “I don’t go by color. I go by thickness.”
