I love fresh watermelon, but there’s something in artificial watermelon flavor that tastes really off to me. Add that to the fact that watermelon candy seems to be everywhere now, including a bag of gummi sours that I just bought. The pink ones aren’t strawberry or cherry, they’re an icky fake watermelon. And another candy I had recently had green ones that I hoped were green apple and turned out to be watermelon instead, much to my disappointment. So am I the only one who’s had it with watermelon? ---

Watermelon flavored candy, particularly chewing gum, is vile. I’ve been repulsed by just the aroma ever since childhood. ---

I like both real watermelon and artificial watermelon flavor, although they are obviously extremely different. I will certainly take artificial watermelon flavor over the various artificial citrus flavors found in candy. (I wouldn’t complain about getting cherry or strawberry in its place, though.) ---

I’ve always been in the group that thinks watermelon is the best candy flavor. I remember a character in a movie saying that and definitely agreeing. As long as it’s not the “tangy” watermelon. Not really sure that’s the right word, but have no better way to describe it. Used to think watermelon jolly ranchers were a good example of this. But since I’m not a JR fan, I probably haven’t had any in 10+ years, so couldn’t swear to it. I miss lime - it seems like there’s no lime-flavored candy anymore. I do, however acknowledge that candy fruit flavors are all fake and don’t taste like fruit. I just don’t mind that. Don’t like bananas, but do like banana flavored candy. ---

Companies are moving away from lime. It still bums me out that Skittles made green the apple flavor instead of keeping it lime. ---

There’s something about all melons that I never really cared for. Then one year my father decided to grow watermelons in the backyard garden. Lots of them. It seemed to me that we had watermelon for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day for a month. Now I really don’t like watermelon at all, so watermelon candy is right out. ---

I’ve never liked watermelon or green apple candy, but I haven’t seen it as much lately as I used to when I was a kid. Though that may just be luck: I apparently haven’t had Skittles since they replaced lime with green apple, for instance. On the other hand, strawberry or any sort of citrus flavor is fine, and I _love_ artificial cherry flavor (even though it’s absolutely nothing like real cherry flavor, which I also love). ---

There was briefly a watermelon shaped and flavored candy in Runts. The last time I bought any, the watermelon shape was being used for grape, and the resident green candy was green apple (shaped like the old cherry pieces, naturally). Honestly, as long as it’s not sour [fill in the blank], I’ll give it a try. Just don’t touch my artificial banana-flavored candy. ---

Forget candy – watermelon _liquor_ is VILE. After my grandmother died we took home the contents of her liquor cabinet and there was some there and it tasted extra sweet watermelon cough syrup. Blech. ---

I can’t get tired of watermelon flavored candy because I’ve never liked it. I hated watermelon Jolly Ranchers back in the 90s? 80s? When I first had them. Yuk. Apparently watermelon mouthwash is pretty vile too. ---

From what I can remember based on childhood experiences, any fruit-flavored oral care product is vile. And suddenly I have the Sparkle Crest jingle stuck in my head.
