That King’s Quest V playthrough is a hoot - my boyfriend doesn’t get why it’s funny, because he didn’t play V and VI until his fingers bled when he was a kid. It’s like playing it again with a good friend or something - god, that fucking scorpion! It’s funny what I remember and what I don’t - it usually lines up exactly with what he does, weirdly enough. I also remembered the willow lady as beautiful and loved her song, and now she looks like some nasty Ent thing. Hee! ---

The Nerd’s reaction to the sudden appearance of the upside-down chicken mask is, I think, the funniest thing he’s ever done. It’s just the perfect reaction. ---

I love AVGN to death. There’s just something about apoplectic rage that I always find gut-busting (Lewis Black, Sam Kinison, etc.). ---

I love his stuff when he’s actually playing the games. He tries something and fails, “Fuck”, tries again, “FUCK!”, tries again “WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK!!!” 😃 Always gets me. He should stop with the additional jokes and just stick to banging his head against bad game design. When he does that he’s golden. ---

Man, that Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties review needs to come with a health warning about busting your gut; it’s one of the funniest things I have ever seen. And does AVGN really own all those defunct consoles and old games as part of his personal collection? He is one dedicated video game nerd. To wax philosophical for a moment, I think this is a good example of why global pop culture is infinitely richer for the Internet. There is probably a tiny number of people in the world with the resources or skill to do what AVGN does and before the Internet they would have had no outlet for their talents. Today such people not only get a free distribution channel, but the Internet, through threads like these, helps sift through the dross and highlight the gems that are really worth watching. ---

Not all of them, he asks for donations on [cinemassacre.com](http://cinemassacre.com) (his site), but I do know once or twice he had to resort to borrowing because all the ones he found on eBay ended up broken (or something). I think sometimes he gets a permanent donation after the review, in case he wants to do more or just out of fan appreciation so he may very well own them all _now_ but didn’t necessarily at the time of the review. I know he’s been loaned games too, but he has a **lot.** He was recently finishing off his NES collection meaning he has almost every NES game published, and I think he’s close on Genesis titles too. ---

By the way, Angry Nerd trying to setup and play the Atari 5200 is an absolute classic. I laughed through the entire “review”. That system was impossible!
