Um . . . er . . . How about a ground rule or two here? Is the next player to expand on e4 by making White’s next move (b3), or are we playing multiple games against White (Nc6)? Dr. Watson “Ye speak of the sport of kings, but the kings are all dead, so what’s the sport, eh?” ---

I garbled that last bit mercilessly, didn’t I? In other words, are we playing one game, with consecutive posters expanding on the positions of alternating sides? Or is it everybody against Lib with all posters playing independent games (while ye reply to multiple games with multiple responses)? Or is this just a private game, and I should just shut-up and shove off now? Dr. Watson “No visibility, but properly aimed.” ---

I just assumed it would be one game, and whoever wants to can make the next move, be it for white or black. Then again, I didn’t start this thread, so I don’t know. ---

Play any game(s) you want, with anyone you want. Just be sure you identify which game your move or response is for. Please list all moves of the game. Like this: * * * Cabbage: 1.e4 c5 2.d4 * * * ---

The problem with ‘Global Thermonuclear War’ is that, after you play, it takes _forever_ to set up the pieces for the next game. Not to mention, the best guess is that it would be hard to tell, afterward, if you won. Makes postgame gloating really difficult. But chess, OTOH… : :pulls up chair, munches Doritos loudly enough to annoy the players:: A Mora Gambit, huh? Hadn’t seen one of those in awhile… ---

Which wouldn’t be me, Lib; I never got out of the 1700s, back when I was playing rated chess. (30 years ago.) But my ancient _MCO_ is still handy; when I opened it up, I noticed that your gambit was in the book, and had a name. Of course, it’s so old that it describes it in terms of 1. P-K4, P-QB4; 2. P-Q4, etc. And I haven’t played chess in so long that that’s still how I think; I have to mentally translate the moves in this thread from algebraic into descriptive to make sense of them. If I played you, you’d probably whip my butt. 😉 ---
