Not only were they lined up… She was sitting on a throne with a BREAST pump on. I assume she isn’t number 1 prostitute but number 1 CHEESE factory. ---

This was the church pastor, by the way. That such a crass bigot is acting as a spritual leader to a congregation is just so frickin’ unbelievable. ---

Big fan of Borat and Ali G. Last week I introduced my best friend to Cohen’s work, and he loved it. He just saw the movie, and emailed me that he LITERALLY injured himself laughing - pulled an abdomenal muscle about 15 minutes in. My proudest moment! Joe ---

Sacha Cohen is not a genius. His characters are pretty one-dimensional, and kinda the same (they’re all dumb and use bad English). The reality-TV aspect of his comedy is a crutch. The Ali G movie reveals his inability to survive on talent alone, when there isn’t a car-wreck quality to stare at. The hype by movie critics is ridiculous, but movie critics epitomize slightly educated people who like to feel smarter than everyone else, which is Cohen’s target audience. We’re supposed to think he’s “really smart” underneath the stupidity because he has a fucking Bachelor’s degree? Give me a break. It’s nothing but the same cringe comedy we’ve been bombarded with in different forms for the last ten years, and it’s been done better by the crew behind movies like “Best in Show,” and by the original BBC “The Office.” If it’s somehow a stroke of genius to reveal that the American South is - gasp! - homophobic, antisemetic, and racist, I just have to wonder how cloistered a life you yankees lead that it’s shocking to walk into a theater and find it out all over again. And doesn’t it seem like every comedy these days is the same regurgitated nonsense and it’s always described as “refreshingly politically incorrect”? Where are all the politically correct comedies they are supposing freshening the air from? Give me a break. ---

He is a pretty good figure skater though. I’ll give you that. To win the silver medal under the guise of a teenage girl was pretty spectacular acting, too. ---

As I think I’ve said, I enjoyed the movie, but with an 84-minute running time it seems like I had already seen a large amount what with previews and appearances on Letterman and the Daily Show. I don’t think I’ll watch it again but it was hilarious for one viewing. ---

I liked the movie. I’ve seen all the HBO shows, so there was an element of “seen it” for me. The Pam Anderson bit HAD to be staged. You just can’t assault someone like that. I’m sure it was a real signing, but they must have worked out the gag. I had the feeling the Jewish innkeepers thing was staged, too. It was funny when he was throwing money to the cockroaches. Also, the kids & the bear had to be staged. ---
