I specifically asking about D2, but if it turns out that everybody is on D3 (I don’t even know if it’s out or what) then feel free to talk about that. I didn’t have time to play back when [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=598409&highlight=Diablo) came out. I just graduated and I recently found my copies. I installed them and it seems to play OK. (D2 original wouldn’t play, kept asking for the “play” disk, which the computer seemed to read OK when it was installing. Then I installed the expansion pack and it seems to play fine.) I resurrected all the characters on my account and on the sd-smallstuff account before I realized that the ladder reset a couple months ago. So, is anybody playing? ---

D3 will be out when it’s ready. I’m hoping 4th quarter 2011? Coincidentally, I just got the urge for some D2, but can only find the expansion disc, not the original install disc… Joe ---

If it’s still installed, then the expansion disk will work for gameplay. Alternately, I think it might be possible now to install it from online. Count me out, alas. I don’t have as much time for games at present, and what I do have is going to Starcraft 2. ---

Heh. I just went to Steam to see if they sell Diablo\*. I type “Diablo” into the search bar, hit enter. One hit. For Torchlight. \*I realised this was a longshot from the start for ‘political’ reasons but it’s a game I’d like to have a reliable copy of and would probably be cheap nowadays, so I gave it a shot. ---

If you still have your original discs, you can plug your CD keys into Blizzard’s website and download digital copies. OP - I think I’m out. I got my fix a few months ago.
