Anyone done the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge?

I didn’t do the challenge, specifically, but I often (not always) read over 52 books a year anyway without really trying to do so. I’ll hit the mark, and then some, for 2018, as it happens.

Not so much any more, but I averaged about three books a week, back when I was a teenager. I took out so many interlibrary loans that I still have my old 13-digit library card number memorized. Every week, I’d walk over to the library, return last week’s batch, pick up this week’s, and order next week’s.

I never did it as part of a “challenge”, though. That was just how I spent my time.

This is the first I heard of the challenge.

I read a lot, but if I “officially” commit to finishing a book every week it would probably cause me to forgo some longer denser books in favor of easy reads.

So I’m not going to keep count, but I still read a lot.

This book challenge looks interesting.
I counted 49 topics, but one of them is a trilogy so there’s your 52.
I did the Goodreads challenge this year and hit my goal of 20 books last month. I may bump it up to 25 for 2019 and use the above link as a guide.
And for anyone who would like a recommendation to get you started, here are 2 of my favorites from 2018.
The Great Beanie Baby Bubble: Mass Delusion and the Dark Side of Cute
and
Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic
Find them on Amazon, Ebay, your local library or bookstore.
