There will be a new series on USA starting in July called Covert Affairs which stars uberhottie Piper Perabo as a CIA agent. The problem is, I don’t think I can buy her in that role. Perhaps she’ll surprise me with her acting chops, but she hasn’t yet so I doubt she will here either. What say you? Are you looking forward to checking out this new series, or ignore it? ---

People bought Jennifer Garner as a superspy. I didn’t, but plenty of others did. ---

She might surprise us with acting chops. Many actors have, after unpromising starts to their careers. But I wouldn’t bet on it. ---

Sub in _Monk_ for _White Collar_, (which I’ve never seen), and I’m right there with you. USA does some deceptively good character driven shows based on what seem like gimmicky premises at first. I can’t recall off the top of my head anything I’ve seen Perabo in, but I’m willing to give USA the benefit of the doubt based on the strength of _Monk_ and _Burn Notice_ alone. Someone mentioned \*Alias \*and Garner and while I don’t think she created a believable CIA agent she definitely created an entertaining character that hooked me. That’s all I really look for. ---

I think this looks really cool, exploring the CIA is cool and kind of in the same vein as In Plain Sight - doing shows in settings you don’t often see. ---

I watched it last night. I liked it. It’s not like she’s playing an experienced CIA agent. She gets called out of training early for a special reason. I really enjoyed it.
