I think it’s weird that she’s a 54 year old woman who still tries to dress like a teenaged dubutante. Other than that, seh strikes me as a basically harmless, typically shallow and vaccuous political trophy wife. ---

A trophy wife in 1979 is one thing. A too often face lifted 54 year old is yet another. That deaths head looks skeeves me out. ---

I’ve never heard her speak. She seems to follow McCain around everywhere, and stand just off to the side with her hands folded. Probably not her fault-- that’s a lot of what candidates’ wives have to do-- but she does look kind of creepy standing there. She needs to let her hair down a bit. Maybe a mud wrestling match with Michelle Obama would help. Then they can literally sling mud at each other. ---

A message to future parents: Names like Cindy, Mindy, Candy, Wendy… sound great. _For a 10 year old!_ A woman of 54, or 60 with a name like that? No so cromulent. YMMV. JMHO. Void where prohibited. ---

She’s got that too-much-plastic-surgery look that makes me cringe every time I see her. I also think that platinum blonde hair adds to her creepiness and makes her look like a mannequin. ---

What puzzles me is that I’ve seen pics of her from a fews years, not a lot, back, when she was coloring her hair a bit darker, a bit more straw-colored (sort of yellowy-browney sort of color), and it was shorter and somewhat curved rather than long and pulled directly away from her face the way it is now. Like [here](http://www.thefrisky.com/images/uploads/oldcindymccainthumb.jpg) or even [here](http://archives.cnn.com/2000/ALLPOLITICS/stories/08/17/mccain.cancer/story.cindy.mccain.jpg). She looked less pale and skeletal, and she didn’t have that trashy platinum blonde hair. Sorry, I come from an era when obviously bleaching your hair was considered trashy, and I’ve never really been able to get over it. The odd thing is, so does she. Of course, she’s from the southwest, and I’m from the northeast. May be different standards. Not really. I realize the wife of a candidate gets an inordinate amount of attention but in the absence of such, were I to see her out and about I’d probably pay her no mind other than to notice she’s obviously well kept. ---

Especially since it was basically a fluff piece, and so I presume the photographer was trying to make her look good. She looks like a Stepford wife that’s having some sort of minor malfunction in whatever mechanism is supposed to allow her to mimic human facial expressions. Anyways, I presume its from a mixture of having a hundred million dollars to try and fight against aging gracefully and whatever health problems she has (I think she had a stroke a few years back). ETA: that link actually tries to print the image, but for me anyways, if you just hit cancel on the print thingy it just displays it on the screen. Sorry ---

They’re supposed to come a little closer to meeting above the nose, and _don’t_ have an arch out towards the edge of the face that you could practically stick another eyeball under. ---

On the other hand… I saw her a couple of weeks ago on a CNN interview while she was doing Good Works in (I think) Vietnam, she was dressed neatly but casually, and when she spoke she seemed quite normal and not creepy. I wonder, if she has light-colored eyes if she doesn’t end up squinting a bit in daylight, which can make her face look less than pleasant, especially from a distance. That was my impression of her when she was traipsing around after hubby trying to look all trophy-riffic. Roddy ---
