ive been getting lag and 504 timeouts since about 5 pm my time bot its gotten worse since about 9:30 Pst … the board will lag and then this pops up: 504 Gateway Time-out shield ---

The posts about errors were made between 11:30 PM and 1:15 AM PST (going by my time zone here). At 5:30 AM when I first started cruising the boards there were no issues, and I haven’t had any other problems in the past 5 hours. My guess was that it was a temporary problem last night. ---

JFTR, the 504/502 gateway errors started up (IME) around 1500EDT (1200PDT) yesterday. Easygoing and unflappable souls that Dopers are, nobody posted about them here until maybe 8 hours later. (Particularly since, as “upstream” errors, there’s nothing TPTB can do to directly fix them, except maybe fire off vaguely-worded complaints to hosting companies.) ---

I just got a bunch of 504s and when the page loaded, there were duplicate posts from both myself and **EinsteinsHund** in [this thread in GQ](https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=21879962#post21879962). ---

And in other threads. And in Café, a duplicate thread (Drinking laws in England) which I suspect might have had the same cause.
