You spent untold hours on the phone cheering people up and helping them, shopping for gifts, taking your own vacation time IIRC to try to help others out - others which sadly very often were just God damned unappreciative of you. You went so far beyond the call of duty that I don’t even have a word to describe it. We may have discussed in a group and voted on what to do with the donations, but the ultimate authority was mine. Agreed with **MfM**. OTOH it is **Una** who still has neither provided anything to back up the specific delusion she has that I have had a campaign of personal insults and smears against her nor apologized for stating such an untruth. I’ll live with that as silence that speaks loudly. ---

My understanding of the sequence is this: She posted something irrelevant and somewhat insensitive in a thread where she hadn’t even read the OP. Then he called her on it. Then she accused him of a “campaign” against her in retaliation for an encounter they had ages ago. Then when asked for evidence of said campaign, she said, “Well, he called me this really mild name once.” Then when asked for further evidence that this is actually a campaign of ill-treatment rather than a one-off name-calling, she has not responded in any way. In other words, she’s made a pretty damn ugly accusation that she can’t back up. And that generally deserves an apology. If the roles were reversed I’m fairly certain she’d be demanding an apology, so why shouldn’t the OP? ---

Well, I have been reading the SDMB for quite a while. I do pay attention to style, content, snark, history & any experience I have with posters here & other places. I also have read all the posts in this thread and most of the others related to this… Drive by posting & saying that is the thread was not read but here is my take… is worth just that. Most here are only reading words and that is not communicating IMO. Yeah, yeah, it’s all you’ve got to go on… No it is not, you build a history & try to got to know people and understand them… What, no fun, rather just be judgmental & nasty??? :smack: Geez, and you all get to vote too… :eek: Splains a lot. I think it’s fair to say that Una’s problem, to the extent she has one, is that she’s like that lady you know from work who has a need for drama. No one just forgets your birthday, they are planning to freeze you out of your social circle. No one is brusque with you because they’re in a hurry, they actually hate you because you wear leather. And every slight, real or imagined, goes down in the mental rolodex: “Oh, you’ve been civil? What about that gun control thread in 2004 when you said I was a silly-billy?” _Forum drama_.
