Thanks for the link **GuanoLad**. I’m glad to hear that some Madison Avenue mogul didn’t get paid multi-mega-millions to draw such a hideous image. I completely missed the “g” for the longest time. The original art is much better. ---

I actually prefer Andre’s version of the little g, and the more recent little blue g, to the original big blue G (which always struck me as a bit squished on the bottom and awkwardly shaped.) IMO, the “fixed” version of the new logo is hard to look at because it has no dark tones to it and no shading, and of course the off-centering strikes me as trying too hard. ---

I thought it was a glitch so I reinstalled Opera. It looks terrible. It doesn’t seem to show up in Firefox though. ---

Agreed that the new one is fugly. Agreed that it was okay as submitted, before Google fuglification. You’d think Google would have wanted to protect the previous version, kind of like the companies that trade under one-letter abbreviations on the NYSE. I don’t know how much competition there is on the streets of Favicon City but it seems like another dotcom could now use a similar simple, elegant G and make it their own. ---
