Hardly any of my favorite sites are working and some that are won’t load completely. I can’t even open The Straight Dope main page! WTF is going on?

Weird. My connection started working better about an hour ago but I’m still not getting everything.

Snopes appears to be down. Are they having ISP issues?

I don’t see anything more than normally amiss in North America. In fact, traffic appears to be zipping along better than normal in most areas. Could be a problem at your ISP.

If you do a traceroute on the sites you’re having trouble with, you may find one or more common nodes. Perhaps one of these is acting up. Decent traceroute software will show you the packet return time for each node as well as dropped packet stats, so you may be able to locate the funky node in question.

Everything seems to have corrected itself within the past couple of hours.

BTW: I’m work and we use a T1 connection.

Oh, and for a few minutes I wasn’t getting anything at all but that was because the firewall had reset itself for some reason. It normally requires us to log in every 8 hours. Maybe we were having a firewall problem.
